Anthony Joshua to Face Daniel Dubois for IBF World Heavyweight Title at Wembley
Anthony Joshua will square off against Daniel Dubois in an all-British battle for the IBF world heavyweight title on September 21 at Wembley, following Oleksandr Usyk's decision to vacate the belt.
Usyk's Surprise Move
Usyk, who became the first heavyweight to hold all four major belts (IBF, WBO, WBA, and WBC) after defeating Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia last month, announced his decision to relinquish the IBF title in a social media video. "I know the IBF title is important to you. It is my present to you on September 21," Usyk said.
Dubois: The Mandatory Challenger
Daniel Dubois, the IBF's mandatory challenger, will face Joshua for the coveted title. Dubois boasts an impressive record of 21 wins from 23 fights, while Joshua, a two-time world champion, has 28 victories and three losses in his career.
A Historic Opportunity
This showdown presents a significant opportunity for both British heavyweights, with the winner set to claim the prestigious IBF title. The last British boxer to unify the major heavyweight belts was Lennox Lewis in 1999.
