Aston Villa Sign Ian Maatsen from Chelsea in £37.5m Deal
Aston Villa have announced the signing of Netherlands defender Ian Maatsen from Premier League rivals Chelsea, with reports suggesting a transfer fee of £37.5 million (€44.3 million, $47.4 million). The 22-year-old left-back, who recently featured in the Champions League final for Borussia Dortmund against Real Madrid, joins Villa on a permanent deal. Maatsen is the second signing under Villa manager Unai Emery, following the arrival of Lewis Dobbin from Everton. [1] Aston Villa are preparing for Champions League football after finishing fourth in the Premier League last season.
